About The Artist
I remember my father teaching me perspective when I was 5 years old and I drew lots of houses. Grandma painted ships at sea and flowers on china plates. My dad painted scenes and barns. In the second grade I learned about all the famous European painters and their works. My home schooling through the Calvert school system out of Baltimore provided us a set of cards featuring these painters and their famous paintings. Subsequently, we traveled through Europe on our return from Sumatra, Indonesia on three different trips and we visited the museums where these paintings hung. It meant so much more having learned about these painters and their works. I remember an artist in Rome telling me I had Titian red hair and so I had to learn about Titian. He painted red haired women. I have always preferred painting faces, both people and dogs and I love acrylics. Dad did water colors and Grandma was an oil painter.
