The Mango Tree SPA is located on a very lovely mountain side just above the Coronado River. This is the only part of Costa Rica where the Mountains flow into the ocean and are covered the primary jungle. We are approximately 4 hours from San Jose over the Mountains, or 3 1/2 along the brand new coastal highway from Jaco. As you can see from the map we are very centrally located for all your activities.
Leaving San Jose you have two travel routes to the Mango Tree Ecolodge: Over the mountains or along the coast. We recommend one coming and one going. Driving inland over the steep mountains that make up the spine of Costa Rica’s incredible beauty you will be greeted with volcanic vistas, green everywhere, amazing jungle sounds, the drone of the insects, stunning birds, sloths slowly crossing the road, monkeys howling in the tree tops, flowers and vegetation you have never seen before…..all finally culminating until your cross over to be dazzled by your first view the Pacific Ocean. If you choose the coastal route, you will drive from San Jose to Jaco and then along the new coastal highway passing through Quepos, Dominical, Uvita, Ojochal to Coronado. Here you will turn toward the mountains, following the Coronado River and finally to our gorgeous exclusive ecolodge with splendid jungle villas surrounded by nature, spectacular views of the mountains, valleys, sounds of the rushing river below, our wonderful tropical rains all inviting you into a setting of total tranquility.
Here at the Mango Tree SPA the vista is one of jungle covered mountains looking out over the Pacific Ocean. The property is exceedingly tranquil with lovely healing gardens, birds and Costa Rican wildlife freely offering their "music".
We have internet, pools, lovely cooling breezes, full time security, large very private villas, and the Coronado River is just below with numerous waterfalls and deep pools for a wonderfully refreshing cool swim.
